Front-end ECN Interface (PIRAU) – PIRAU Functions

PIRAU standard functions:

• Call detection and signalling
• Call connection, emergency call point holding function
• Multi-call management
• Multi-connection management (on same EROS system aerial)
• Management of functioning operator stations with Voice over IP,
• Management of operator station response levels (1 to 4 levels),
• Handling of back-up forwarding of emergency calls
• Multi-protocol aerial management (CS copper or fibre-optic, Alcatel copper or fibre-optic, EROS digital, GSM/PSTN and telephone input)
• Emergency call point test on request (by unit, by aerial or by network)
• Automatic multi-mode programmable test
• Dynamic testing of connected equipment (IP telephones, gateways, etc.),
• Holding and welcome voice message transmission to the telephone caller,
• Handling of foreign language assistance requests
• IP telephone management (H323 standard and SIP (G.711))
 

Advanced PIRAU functions:

• Emergency call point start-up and shutdown
• Call acceptance from unconfigured emergency call point
• Automatic detection of cable or fibre-optic integrity failure
• Automatic configuration from a central database
• Monitoring and alarm at a set threshold of logged-in operators (customisable)
• Additional incoming call detection and signalling
• Remote maintenance using LCR (the French Road Command language) through a serial or TCP/IP link
• Maintenance plan management
• Network status management
• 2-level watchdog timer
• First-level maintenance - 4 line LCD display:
• Integrated technical monitoring

The PIRAU features a 3U frame including

• one CPU
• 4 operator station card slots,
• 8 ECN aerial connection card slots.

An external RAM900 power supply provides the required operational voltage. A single RAM900 rack can supply 2 PIRAU systems.
